Webster’s Artefacts

Digging through some old notebooks and loose papers, I came across “Webster’s Artefacts“. Back in 2019, I commissioned James “Jeshields” Shields to draw some bespoke pen and ink illustrations. Once I got the first 10 images, I did some primitive layout using MS Publisher and made a deck and little booklet with rules.

It’s weird to rediscover the cards – in total I think there were thirty – that I got printed up back before the pandemic. I had forgotten this was perhaps my first serious foray into Dungeon Fantasy RPG. Now that I am back running Fellmyr with DFRPG it seems timely and appropriate to use these forgotten treasures in my campaign.

It’s a shame that the card deck of 60 items never got finished, largely due to Jeshields getting snowed with more pressing work. That said, finding it again after more than 5 years is pretty exciting. It echoes a truth about my hobby: I am forever running in circles. Yes, I am back playing DFRPG and yes, these cards are a cool addition to the game.

Now I wonder what other forgotten treasures lie hidden in my notes and old files.

Game on!
