Reading Justin Alexander’s book this morning, I reached the section on Urban Adventures and read about The City. So inspiring was the idea of running a city as a campaign location that my mind began to paint images of a science-fiction future set within The Ninth Imperium.

Certainly the idea is influenced by the Traveller Universe because my mind was also showing me the covers of the GURPS Third Edition supplements for Starports and Traveller itself. But I was imagining my own spin on those ideas, in the manner that the original Classic Traveller LBB’s did back in the day.
It’s amazing to me how one part of Justin’s book has sparked a whole cavalcade of ideas for a new world and potential play. It has connected me back (again) to my love for early GURPS combined with the freedom of creativity that Traveller represents in my mind. The joy that I feel when I allow my mind to wander to that place is intense.
This is why I love roleplaying.
Game on!
