The BRP Hardback

Quick note to say that I (finally) got my Basic Roleplaying (BRP) hardcover from Chaosium today – yay!

Originally packed alongside RuneQuest (2e), BRP was a major step in my development as a roleplayer and helped moved me towards GMing. A couple of months back I revisited the original BRP booklet and then dove into running a solo game inspired by its mention of Crag’s Ruin.

BRP is close to my heart and one of my top three game systems for roleplaying. While I did skim through the .PDF back in April, it’ll be good to read the tome properly. I wonder if it’ll nudge me back towards my home?

Game on!

    • I’ll compare them sometime, although I don’t honestly view Mythras as generic… it’s a fantasy system which is very adaptable, but not generic in itself. So most likely BRP will stand out as genuinely generic… even if I might prefer Mythras. 😉
