Fellmyr Gets Real

At the end of August, I commissioned artist Fernando Salvaterra to draw a poetic player’s map of Fellmyr based on my crappy hand-scribbled sketch. The full map is delicious and when I showed the student’s at school a nearly-finished draft on Tuesday they spent about half an hour pouring over it.

Maps bring a place to life and make the locations described in-game seem more real. Even with an unscaled poetic map, designed to show roughly where the major locations are in relation to one another, there is a great deal of joy to be had in exploring the page.

As the campaign grows, I feel as though the arrival of the map has come at just the right moment to lift me. Where momentum was slowing, the full map (of which the image above is but a snapshot) acts as an accelerant to my imagination.

Big thanks to Fernando for doing the work! Thanks also to the Patrons of RPR who have funded his work and helped me to realise a vision. The game is coming alive!

Game on!
