As I sit here editing the GM’s Journal for another week, news has broken of the passing of our Queen, Elizabeth II. Out of respect for the nation, I feel there is only really one thing to be said: “The Queen is dead. Long live the King!”

There will be many more and better words published elsewhere but I didn’t want to trivialise the moment. Despite my lack of monarchist instincts, it is a profound moment after such a long reign. Thank you, ma’am.
