Postie came today and delivered a copy of the Cypher Deluxe Rulebook, which is a lovely tome. Yeah, I own Cypher already but it’s a bonus arising from the Cypher Starter Set campaign from a year or so back.

It arrived all shiny and shrink-wrapped. The cover is embossed and the pages are edged with silver. It’s a lovely heavy hardback book (like the standard version) and certainly feels substantial.

Stripping off the wrapping, you can feel the vegan leather cover and appreciate the ribbon tucked inside. Opening it up, as the edged pages separate, there’s a sense of opulence. I love the way that Monte Cook Games makes premier products and support their right to charge appropriately. This is good stuff!

The interior is the same as the standard book but the full-colour art and clear layout is still great to revisit. Yeah, it tempts me back to running the game system. It’s a delight to flip through. I am an excited Game Master who like to imagine cool tales. ‘Nuff said.
