School Club News

Permission has been sought and granted to continue to offer the school gaming club – of which the main focus will be roleplaying games – from September 2023. Better than that, I’ve been granted permission to run the club until 4.30pm weekly, effectively doubling the session time.

Tomorrow I will tell the students who currently attend and work on figuring out what will be on offer. I want to be in a position to have both an Open Table RPG game that anyone – especially newbies – can join (run by me), alongside one or more other GMs.

The question of whether I can afford the time is, on my current analysis, moot because the issue is really whether I believe it’s important enough to offer these games to young people. I believe in the essentially pro-social and positive psychological value of playing games face-to-face with others and that’s that.

Thank you to the many patrons who have expressed their support for the school club through the Patreon. I’ll continue to equip the group using the funds raised by Roleplay Rescue’s podcast and hopefully this will encourage more gamers in the year to come.

Game on!
